Deadly Fashion Sin

The seven deadliest fashion sins:
No. 7 – Self-Denial

It’s false humility to think that it’s vain to focus on yourself and your clothing needs. Self-denial won’t get you to Heaven. Think about it. Is it “too showy” for a rose bush to produce beautiful roses? Is it self-indulgent for the sun to come up every day and glow so brightly for all to enjoy? Is it vain for you to look like your beautiful self? NO! The whole world benefits from you caring for yourself. Don’t deny yourself the pleasure of looking and feeling your best.

All Tied Up

RIBBONS EVERYWHERE!

From hair to presents, ribbon can make anything look pretty and come alive. I always buy ribbon! ALWAYS! I can be in the most unsuspecting places. Like the one spot at Target, where I snagged my sassy valentine ribbons! Or the Dollar Tree where I scored these cutesy gold wired ones for HALF OFF! AND my absolute fave, THE THRIFT, where I always manage to find a BIG BAG of satiny, grosgrain and sheer surprise!

So tie extra ribbons to your birthday gifts, your ballet flats, your Valentine's Day bear, your purse handle, personalize your pens and scissors and lunchbags and luggage. Give a little twist to your flower pots and candles or even your wrist!

That's right make beaded ribbon bracelets for you and all your friends! All you need is beads, ribbon and scissors! VOILA!

I LOVE RIBBON!

Deadly Fashion Sin

The seven deadliest fashion sins:
No. 6 - Settling

Compromising your desires can be a crushing blow to your spirit. You know how you go to the store to buy a white blouse and instead of buying the one you love, you settle for the one that's OK, will do in a pinch, kinda works? Settling for something ends up feeling like undigested oatmeal sitting at the bottom of your stomach. Don' settle for an OK pant when a fantastic one is just another rack or store over from where you're standing.

Never leave what you love...

I am an avid thrift store shopper. I visited one the other day and saw a gorgeous vintage olive boucle coat with a fur collar and cropped sleeves. GORGEOUS! But it was $19.96...and I am not cheap, but I have the same coat at home in black and got it for $5.50. So I left it there thinking the very next day, I'd be able to snag it at 20% off. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went back the next day, less than 12 business hours later and MY COAT was gone!

The Moral:
Never leave what you love at the thrift, it may not be there tomorrow.
